    Apple Music is a premium US based digital music platform with over 100 million songs and exclusive content in its catalog. Its playlist ecosystem comprises of dedicated digital radio and local appeal available both on IOS and Android (a plus giving that Android operating system is dominant in the African market.

    Both prepaid and postpaid customers

  • What kind of phone, device or browser do I need to access the service?

    This is available to all Android & iOS mobile devices

  • How much is Apple Music subscription fee?

    A – The free version cost N0 B –The paid version cost N1000

  • Does auto-renewal work with Apple Music?

    Yes, auto-renewal works with the subscription plan. However, your subscription will be automatically renewed only if you select auto-renewal yourself at the point of subscription and if you do not unsubscribe from the service

  • What is the Validity for Apple Music?

    A – N0/6months (First 180 days of activation) B – N1000/30days (Paid version)

  • How can I subscribe?

    A – Via USSD By dialing the short code *447# > select 2 New services > Select 4 Apple Music > Select 1 for free and 2 for paid   B – Via SMS Send “Music” to 8000 for 6 months free or “P” to 8000 for Paid version   C– MTN official website @ D – MyMTN App E – MTN Play Portal

  • What happens after I send the subscription request?

    Once you send “Music” to 8000, you will receive a double confirmation page for you to consent. Once you consent by selecting “Accept” an SMS from 8000 is sent with a URL to consume the service. You will be prompted to either your Google Playstore or iOS App store (Depending on your device) if you don’t have the Apple Music application already downloaded.

  • How can I opt-out / unsubscribe from the subscription plan?

    Text A – Stop music B - No music C - End music D – Cancel Music E – Opt out T0 8000

  • What happens when I unsubscribe before the 6th month?

    Customer will still enjoy Apple Music until it expires

  • Can I activate Apple Music on more than one MSISDN linked to my NIN?

    No. If you have multiple MSISDN linked to the same NIN, only one MSISDN can be used. You will get a notification “You are already subscribed to 6 months Free Apple music on one of your MTN numbers. Thank you.” If you try to activate another MSISDN with same NIN.

  • Do I need internet to be able to stream music?

    Yes. You will need internet access to be able to stream or download music on the Apple Music App.

  • What kind of Android OS can I use?

    Android 5.0 (Lollipop) or later, or a Chromebook that supports Android apps. Go to Google Play to download the Apple Music app.

  • Can I Subscribe to Apple Music without Successfully linking my NIN?

    No. Customers whose lines have not been successfully linked to their NIN will get the notification “Your request to subscribe to Apple Music is not successful. Only numbers linked to a valid NIN can enjoy this offer at the moment. To know your NIN status, kindly dial *785# then select option 4. Otherwise visit myMTN NG App to check”

  • What should I do if my NIN has not been linked?

    Customers should link their NIN to enjoy Apple Music in the closest MTN store near them.

  • Can I transfer my Apple Music subscription?

    Yes. You can transfer your subscription to another MSISDN linked to your NIN. Both the transferrer and transferee will get a notification. However, you cannot transfer subscription to MSISDN linked to other NIN.

  • How do I transfer my Apple Music subscription?

    Simply type in a text “Change*234 YourMSISDN” to 8000

  • I did not receive DOI when I sent Music to 8000

    Dial *447*3# to complete the subscription journey.

  • Can I subscribe for the Student or Family plan?

    No. this is currently not supported.

  • Can I subscribe directly from the Apple Music App by clicking the ‘Joined through MTN’ option?

    No. Only customers who have initially subscribed either through the USSD, SMS or via Web can continue their subscription journey through the ‘Joined through MTN’ Option.
